ONT New restricted transfer wait times??

I bought a restricted rifle and my club in Ontario says once my pal comes in the mail and being my first purchase could take up to a couple of months

Time to come to Alberta! Purchased a restricted firearm from a very nice gentleman a couple provinces east.. Same day he called the CFO and initiated the transfer...

long story short. 3 days, restricted at my doorstep.

NOW.. I don't know if that's pure luck and someone at the head office had their coffee that morning or what but it seemed expedited to me.

I have purchased several restricted and the general wait for me in Alberta has always been anywhere from 1-2 weeks.

Just purchased my first restricted from a dealer in Ontario...other than email the CFO a copy of my range membership(BC) is there anything else I need to do?
Any followup phone calls to CFO required?

You should receive a reference # once the transfer has been initiated. I usually then call the CFO at 1 800 731 4000 with the reference number. Have a brief discussion and then just follow the instructions from there.

Order placed may 9, shipped may14. 3 business days total. That might just be my fastest transfer yet.

My buddy ordered 2 handguns last week for me that were on sale. Got a call 2 days later. I honestly think different stores have different wait times or certain pull with the cfo. I could be wrong tho. In Ontario.

I'm in Ontario and day #4 on a private sale. How did you find out your transfer was ready? Did they/you call or mail/email? I purchased 2 AR rifles (one yesterday from tenda) and 2 handguns all within one week of getting my licence in the mail. Still waiting for all of them. All I have in my safe is my Remington 870. What a tease!

If the CFO is going to have to start issuing ATTs again t is not going to help with transfer times unless extra funding is provided.

Ontario:
Ordered cz from tenda April 11th (thursday), was ready for pickup the next day.

Just ordered two restricted this week (true north arms and durham outdoors) we will see how it goes.
