What is required?
I do have outdoors card (hunting license) for Ontario but not for QC.
Do I have to go through course again or just obtain nonresident license for QC and that is it.

Anyone in the same boat?

When I did the winter caribou hunt a few years ago the outfitter had me fill out my own licence and then he signed it. (there was a language barrier) that was it and the Quebec DNR inspected it said have a good hunt. I did not need anything to prove I had hunted before. Be careful this may not work the same for you.

Just show up with your drivers license and pay the non-resident fee and you're good to go. For black bear you have to go through an outfitter.

For deer you don't need an outfitter, before I give you bad/wrong info on moose hunting google "quebec hunting regulations" click on 'english' and find the out of province regulations. PM me if you're still having trouble and I'll look into it more for you.

Far from being an insult, it's the truth. I can hunt in Ontario for dirt cheap compared to anyone from out of province hunting over here. We always figured it was a way to grab money from our U.S. friends who love the dream of hunting in Quebec. One of my partners lives in Ottawa, pays his share of taxes for our land, yet has to spend hundreds of $ to hunt partidge and deer.
I will not start a rant about one country/ one people etc. :canadaFlag::canadaFlag::canadaFlag:

Out of Province

I suggest you head to Manitoba for your out of province hunt. That's what I used to do when we lived in eastern Ontario. Better opportunities. Such nice people and the deer hunting can be awesome if you can make a connection with a farmer.

Guys, I am building a cottage in zone 10. That is going to be my hunting ground. On this side around Ottawa at least there is no hunting ground available unless you know farmers or possess land.

THANKS all for the input

I hunted West Quebec this year with my inlaws, it ran me around $270ish, I just went to Pneus Québécois (Canadian Tire) in Buckingham, and they print them right there. Didn't even ask for proof of a license from elsewhere.

hey there, i hunt moose in the gaspe area every year, im from NB. to hunt moose in quebec, you just go and buy a license. dont forget though you need 2 tags per moose! hope you make the trip, its expensive, but well worth it!

Since when?
I live in Ontario. ZECs I have hunted in the spring allowed me a "do it yourself" black bear hunt. Buy your bear license and pay the ZEC fee and you are good to go - camp or trailer. I usually buy the yearly ZEC fee. Here's one I hunted for bear - http://www.zeckipawa.com/fees.html

ZECs are exempt from the regulations, anywhere else in Quebec a non-resident "must make use of the services of an outfitter". I didn't know about the ZEC exception myself till I read your post, I checked the regulations and you are right.

Enjoy paying out the Wazoo for the privilege of hunting in Quebec.

I do not mean to be insulting, but out of province hunters better pack extra cash.

Last time I checked a non-resident deer permit in Ontario was around $250 plus a $30 fee to be able to transport it out of province.
Non resident small game is about $119 I believe.

Not cheap.

I think non residents get hosed no matter where they go. But wait, with the money situation in Ontario I expect to see all those fees go up.
