Ontario Antlerless Draw results are in...Who got lucky?

I can’t be bothered putting in for the draw. I’m probably heading stateside again this year, just not that interested in hunting at our camp. My hunting buddy lives in Southern Illinois and my dad is gone so I prefer to stay away from all the places he and I had a lot of memories together. Will probably start going into 56 again in a few years but my group is old and prefers the moose hunt even though most admit they would never shoot a calf. I’m 36 and like to hunt, my desire to be in a camp is gone and like I said, without my dad it’s just a group of old men I’ve known forever. I like hunting hard and being out all day, most just enjoy being away from home for a while but I want to hunt more than anything and my hunting buddy shares my passion so I go to where he is as the deer are everywhere and we have a great time.

One doe tag draw in 58 for the better half and none for me in 65. Don't matter though, we only need one in the freezer for meat. The race is on! There are a couple big bucks at the cabin in 58 and I have the time off to pursue this year.

Another negative for me in 63A. It's starting to piss me off how many out of the area guys get tags, and none of us locals do. Real nice "random" draw lol
A guy at work and I haven't got an antlerless tag in 5 years, but people coming in from Timmins and Orangeville ALWAYS get one.

I think there should be some kind of preferential treatment for people who live in the area, that does make sense. I got my tag in the area next door, so I am not really complaining either way.

At our camp we all roll our eyes and lol at the “random” draw as well but for the opposite reason. Our camp is in 50 and each year 6 or 7 of us apply and most years get zero antlerless tags but locals all seem to get one.

My guess is that it truly is random but for guys like you and me, it sure feels like the odds are stacked against us.

None for our group in 62 this year. However I did get a tag for 69B. I'm not even going to try there . I just did it to see if in fact I'm not on some blacklist. LOL. But is there an enlarged map somewhere of 69B? I can't make out the boundaries from the map on the MNR website. Maybe it's just my eyesight.

Is this better for 69B?

2 0ut of 4 of us drew tags in 49. Last we got nothing so we're all pretty excited about November!

Now if only we could draw a bull of cow tag...
