This seems like a dumb question to asleep, but if I don't I'll worry.

If it's warm out when I go hunting can I wear a construction safety vest? It meets rhetorically size and colour, but it has those yellow stripes.

Thanks for the advice.

From the ON regs...

A hunter orange garment and head cover must be worn. The hunter orange garment must cover a minimum of 400 square inches above the waist and be visible from all sides. Open mesh or camouflage hunter orange must not be part of the 400 square inches. A hunting coat or vest generally meets this requirement. The hunter orange head cover may have: open mesh; a peak or brim colour other than hunter orange, and a crest or logo which does not completely cover the hunter orange on the side where it is affixed. The head cover must not contain camouflage material.

You could wear a hunter orange shirt.

If it is made with the mesh material no. If it is solid material, it has to be visible from all sides, that means it has to be solid material under your arms as well. As long as it meets those requirements and is 400 square inches or more you are good to go. I think with the yellow strips on, it could cover the orange and would have to be subtracted from the 400 square inches so i would remove them.

As long as there is 400 sq in of solid orange it doesnt matter if there are also yellow reflective stripes.
Measure the sections and add up the area.
Will take you about 2 min to do this

These are the important parts. If your safety vest meets these requirements you are good to go.
