Ontario CFO - Restricted transfer times

:mad:Two sold to CGN members and one that I bought, 4 weeks and WAITING!! I've called a couple of times, all they can say is that they are still at the province.
 
13 days for mine.
12 days for the wife's.
6 days for a friend.
The wife and I bought after x-mas.
The friend a week after we received our permits.

And not that its right but a lot of dealers have a contact they call inside that helps them , but hey they make there living this way, i would only guess its fair and the goverment should help a buisness over a person to person , just my 2 cents if its worth anything!

If I were you, pass three weeks I will make very polite call and ask about my transfer. You can also call the dealer and ask him what he recommends to do.
 
I was advised by CFC to contact the CFO after 10 business days have passed.

The guy I talked to was helpful, somewhat apologetic. He blamed the hunting season for the backlog. I was polite but thinking the whole time that it was the antis that wanted all this crap waste of time - they should DEAL with it or SCRAP it.
 
I call and check transfers almost every day weather Im buyer or seller. Surpisingly the last few transfers Ive done within Ont. have only been a few days.
 
I ordered a 1911 commander from Marstar on Nov 23rd and the transfer went though on the 10th of Jan. Shipped on the 11th and in my hands on the 21st. being my first restricted transfer I wasn't expecting it to take that long but oh well I have it now.
 
19331xx was started 1/21 still not done
19147xx was started 1/3 and it's not done either.

So if I read this properly across Canada there were 18400 transfers in 12 business days (about 1500 a day) and they are backlogged.. WTF do these people do.. it takes about 5 minutes to process the paperwork....
If they have more then 6 people working transfers in Ontario .. Should be able to process better then 800 a day... that better then our fair share of the transfers...

Wonder what the breakdown by province is...

Breakdown of transfers started by province by month for the last 12 months.
Breakdown of the number of transfers completed by province by month for the last 12 months.. and then the number of FTE people working on transfers by province by month for the last year....

When you purchase a handgun from a local gun shop, do they not just phone in the particulars of the purchase, i.e. seller, buyer, RPAL number and then authorize a temp ATC to transport from the gun shop to your residence? Then you wait and wait and wait for the ATC to be issued by the CFO to allow transport to the range and back? Is that how this works?

Nope...

You pay for it, leave a bunch of details and go home..
They call, fax or use the internet to send in the details and then you wait and wait...
When it's approved you get you ATT and take it home...
