Ontario CFO wait times.

Been waiting 2 weeks. RCMP Said their bit was done and it’s at the Ontario CFo. That was the day after the transfer. I’m currently on hold for the second time this week with the CPFO. Last time I listened to their crappy elevator music for 2 hrs before I hung up. May just leave my phone on speaker phone for the rest of the day while I wait.
 
Holy crap. They answered.


They are currently 2 weeks behind in transfers so she said, should be done next week.

*edit. When you punch in the 7503 extension. If it transfers you to the RCMP. You can tell them you are trying to call the Ontario office and that will transfer you to the call q and you can wait on hold.

i feel bad for gunnies in the east, i just did a private deal in BC, and when i phoned to do my side of the transfer they approved it over the phone, i received the transfer notification in my email in 22 mins from phoning in with my reference number from the seller
 
One month so far.
Transfer from Ontario dealer to Ontario buyer.

Why is it possible to transfer a vehicle ownership in six seconds; but transferring a firearm takes six weeks?

Because we're a minority that the government doesn't care about, so they won't fund the CFO enough to be sufficiently staffed.

But really, in this day and age, could this not be automated? If two people, both with valid PALs, transfer from one to the other, why is that not just a few clicks of a mouse and approved?
