So how did others in Southern Ontario make out today in the "A" hole type weather we had. I sat for an hour this morning and that was it. I was tearing like a school child cuz of the blinding wind and snow. This afternoon was no differant but I lasted 2 1/2 hours and near froze. Oh and of course saw nothing. I have only Saturday now and thats it. Good luck to the rest of you's.

Here's a couple of pics of a buck my group got this afternoon. It's one of the biggest bucks that I have ever seen. The pictures don't do it justice.

Sat for 2.5 hours this morning.

We did two small drives before lunch.

Back at it again tomorrow. Hope the weather clears!!

So far we have only had 3 sightings...no down.

Ok we have a massive 6 point buck hanging in the barn....

I shot him on our first drive after our morning sit (saw 4 does at 200yds)...

Just as I shot him he actually SLIPPED ON THE ICE!! As such I hit him high in the neck at the juncture with his back..

We tracked hiim into "BLOOD VALLEY" so named from the ammount of OUR blood that fills it due to thorn bushes..

We pushed it out and out popped a doe. She spotted me and was behind a tree. I took the quartering shot and hit her HARD. She dropped, rolled down tha hillside got up....fell down. Got up....Flopped down into a bush where she was thrashing....
Meanwhile I was reloading and two more does scrambled past me........to my left. Tom my hunting buddy was to my RIGHT! No joy.

When I looked forward again I saw a doe climbing the far bank and took a shot at her. But missed clean, it was an long shot...

I heard the drivers so I headed off to collect my doe.........BUT SHE WAS GONE!!!!

We tracked her later and it was the doe that I had shot on the other side of the ravine at long range!!

Meanwhile as I was staring where my deer was supposed to be I looked up and there was a HUGE buck!! In fact it was the buck we were tracking!

He spotted me instantly and stopped behind two trees...
One side I could see his rear. The other side his head. In between was a 3 inch slot......

Turns out I shot about 4 inched left and KILLED the left tree........

He ran right to Tom who took him out at the run with a well placed shot to the front quarter..

We trailed the doe I had shot to our South border and will attempt to pick up the trail in the morning after our sit...

I shot a buck like that about ten yrs ago. When I butchered it, it turned out to be lame on the opposite side of the deformed horn. When I say lame, I mean the hing leg/hip was much smaller than the other side. I've read after that this is common for lame or deer with old wounds from past years.

During the past week the group has tagged 10 deer, I shot a doe and buck fawn on thursday at the junction of 2 bushes (1 being pushed by my group so I sat and waited.) Was nearly ran over by a deer and missed him as he ran mach speed down the field...missed another deer yesterday as it ran out oh well. Shot a coyote as well, while a drive was on in my bush at home...5 dogs ran out of it and no deer...go figure! lol We got 2 that day, 1 the next, 1 today out of it...also got one more yote as well today.

In total seen over 100 deer (Im sure most are mutliple deer but)....roughly 200 turkeys as well..The weather had the deer all messed up and they sent us for a loop as well since they were not doing what the deer have usually done for the past 5 years...just when you thought you had them figured out...
