Are you saying that coyote pelts have no commercial value? At the last fur auction they sure did. If you just want to shoot animals for s**ts and giggles you need to get your head checked.

Coyote pelts shot full of holes, pelts that are mangy, pelts not skinned just the best, etc are not going to be worth too much.
Not sure which auction you are talking about but I am not aware of any in Ontario anymore.
We dont shoot coyotes for S&G, as you suggest, we shoot them because they kill sheep, kill cattle, kill deer, kill turkeys, pheasant and other ground nesting birds, and in SW Ont are such a pest they kill household pets let out for a whizz at night...they have backed children up against their front porches, etc. The farm next to me has had them right in the barnyard after young animals.
There are way too many of them in SW Ont. Period. Thats why there is an open season and no limit on them
You may continue with your farting, since you list it as your "interest"
I will guess which body oriface the gas is escaping from.

What are yote furs going for these days? Last winter there was talk of them not even selling if they weren't absolutely perfect, and even the perfect ones were so cheap that it wasn't worth sending them to auction. Just wondering what you saw them go for and where.
Just checked the Ontario fur harvesters auction site the results are not very impressive. January auction 50% of easterns coyotes sold avg. $31.54 top price $44.00. March auction a little better 60% sold avg. $51.16 top price $93.13. May auction 71% sold avg. $28.28 top price $114.60. For the June auction it says mainly withdrawn. I can only assume that this means that not enough were sold to post results. The top price was probably for western coyotes as there avg. price was higher than the eastern coyotes. Talking to someone I have hunted coyotes with in the past said that last year they probably left 25% in the field because of mange.
In other words, the ones with mange are worth nothing... others have "commercial value" and an overzealous CO can get you in trouble if you abandon them....
not exactly off topic but in a farming area that is shotgun only for deer, I assume because of the number of farms in the area what firearm is permitted for coyote? Rifle/shotgun?
I talking area 63.
Is there anyone in the Alexandria area processing the pelts?
Like Hawkesbury area?.... are you sure you are in 63?.... Just asking because Alexandria is 65....
Edit: As far as the regs for both, I looked them up and neither one of those restrict what firearm you can use for yotes..... you can use whatever non restricted you want legally.....
63/65?
I'm sure you are correct with the zone number 65. I'm new to the area and its easy to make a mistake with the zone numbers.
Thanks for the look up. As soon as the registry is scrapped its off to Ontario to buy a 223.
BTW
Any good gun shops in the area or am I better off just to head on over to Ottawa?
( With this registry bulls**t in Quebec I won't be buying here anymore.)
In Ottawa you have LeBaron and SAIL to buy from.... small gun shop in Cornwall but not very good.... I woudl stick with the major two....
