I received my deer tag in the mail and there is no specification anywhere on the tag, that says what I'm allowed to shoot ("valid for one antlered deer" which are is usually printed, is completely blank)

anyone else notice this on their Ontario deer tags???

My tag came the same way when i call MNR to checked the antlerless draw results it said i was unsuccessful, where my buddy hunts there are very little doe tags so he said that when the tag does not have anything on it it is a buck only tag for anywhere in Ont. You may want to contact MNR and speak with someone to make sure.

Do you need a Tag to hunt buck in ontario other than in the controlled hunts? I thought you could just buy your licence and go bow hunt? I am wrong prob, as I have never bow hunted.

You get the "buck" tag when you buy your license.

Yes that's how they limit your harvest.
You shoot buck or doe & put your none removable "tag" on it, now you have none left, unless your party hunting or have a number of tags for a controlled hunt zone.
