Ontario Fall Turkey Hunt

No the spring tag is only good for the spring hunt , you must get a fall tag for the fall hunt , i believe it is in the regs

Starts October 13th, calls won't work as well in the fall either, you have to do a bit more scouting, don't bother with the decoys either. Have fun!
no spring tag you must buy a fall tag .most of are fall turkewy hunts go along side are deer hunts as thy live in the same areas .we just buy a tag and hunt then when we are on stand for deer with the bow .i find turkeys us the same trails as deer and have had them walk by my stand many times well waitng for deer DUTCH

that in the Spring. From last year, reported harvest data: Fall 427 / Spring 10,492.

With the unconventual manner of fall turkey hunting coupled with all the other fall hunting opportunities it's not surprising there is not a lot of fall turkey hunting interest / success. Turkies in the spring get me excited but at this time of year I'm totally focussed on waterfowl, moose and deer.

it would be nice if a turkey tag was valid for the spring and fall....
turkey are a lot easier to harvest in the fall...just go out for deer and you'll see all kinds of them
seriously though, i find turkey hunting a lot easier in the fall. the birds are grouped together making it much easier to find where they are traveling, feeding, and roosting. just setup a treestand or ground blind close to they're feeding/dusting area about 20 yards from the trail they are using.
i wouldnt bother sitting on the ground without a blind of some sort. around here its normal to see flocks of 20+ birds and its damn near impossible to blink without one of them seeing you. i think a treestand is your best option providing the canopy behind you is thick and there is a slight breeze.
