Ontario Grouse outing yesterday (a.k.a. shotgun & blaze orange for sale)

I had a good early fall season and just got home from closing camp. I tried hunting drummers that were sounding of and out of 3 I heard drumming I got 3. 1st time trying to go after drummers on a log.

no day in the bush is waisted, and another thing I noticed when hunting with my brothers- the harder you try the less success you have, the moment you start enjoying what you doing things start happening

We always do all of the above. That being said, it's still nice to at least see your quarry on occasion!
 
Its a complete #### year for birds... haven't seen one (cept for lots of pond ducks ) ... not even 1 frigging rabbit ..

all i can think of is that last winter was way too hard on em
 
They go in cycles, last year was one of the worst I had seen and this year I have taken 16 and seen another 10-12. I find crisp mornings along the trails the best
 
I haven't seen a deer al week, but the number of grouse I have seen.. well I was wishing I had my shotgun instead of my rifle. No deer, but at least I have some new spots for grouse...
