Below is a link for the Action Center Forum for the Innisfil Firearms Bylaw Thread.

Part of my goal is to help make it the easiest to understand without nonsence restrictions that could be used for other townships.

I'm also exploring the "interfering with a lawful hunt" as a tool to use against other townships and their bad by-laws.;)

I reciently got my Hunters Ed and a 3 years small game licence to help further my understanding and positioning for this fight!

I'm not an Innisfil resident, but will need to know if these reg's are passed. This is the 1st I've heard of this! I do have a hunting partner, who lives in Innisfil, and have asked him to find out if and when this law will happen. I'll let you know when I get additional info.

Surely the OFAH would lend their support to your cause ...

I would suggest they immediately request a delegation to Council
to make a presentation on the matter on behalf of their purported
100,000 Ontario members.

Isn't this sort of thing a major part of their "mandate".

A "no discharge" by-law is typical to built-up areas of residential use in the south,
however if "the map" extends to the whole municipality, i.e., non built-up rural
areas where small game hunting, waterfowling, turkey hunting and the controlled deer hunt (if any) would otherwise have traditionally be carried out and now eliminated, then certainly there is a basis for concern.

'The Map" would normally be attached as a "schedule to" and form part of the By-law. March straight in to the Clerk's Office, letter in hand and (in writing) request a copy of the complete By-law ... whether it be a "draft" or as read only a "first" and/or a "second time" . Put a "cc" on the bottom, and follow through ... i.e., mail a copy of your request to your favourite solicitor. ( you don't have to retain him/her - you only sent him a piece of correspondence for their interest) My guess is you may well get a copy of that elusive map !

Actually Greg Farrent (OFAH) and I already deputized in front of council last fall.

We both were in a staff meeting in Nov 08 giving input (that was partly ignored)

Greg sent an email agreeing that there are more problems with this by-law and that he would like to be in the meeting with the town solicitors and South Simcoe Police as I requested to create a new one.

I sopoke with one of the Councilors today, he will try and send it back to the town staff to clean it up. They did make some revisions, but not enough.
They did release the map, I'm trying to eliminate it.
I'll keep you posted.
