What's the best place to live within 1 hour of Toronto International Airport for a guy with a young family who also loves hunting and fishing?

North somewhere. Barrie area or Port Perry etc. Easy escape to the north as opposed to heading down the 401 either direction. You can be into significant pieces of Crown Land about an hours drives or so from either of those locations (Parry Sound-Muskoka from Barrie, Minden from Port Perry).
 
Newmarket to Barrie area is good, close to Lake Simcoe, and lots of deer in the area, with bear & moose within another hour or two.
 
Peterborough is going to explode once the 407 extension is finished in 5 years. Its a over an hour right now, but still reasonable and will be fast once that extension is done and lots of areas for recreation around.
 
I'm pretty set on going to the Sudbury area. Anything close to Toronto you pay to much and you don't get a lot.
 
I've found even Sudbury is the minimum limit. It seems everyone goes there because they consider it "north" and then it's inundated with hunters. I'm lucky Mrs. Cannon's family has property and camp much further up. Much better hunting.

You can also slide slightly west toward Caledon, North of Bolton and toward Orangeville... lots of turkeys and deer out that way... and many quick access routes back to the urban jungle... I hope that this does not become a necessity for you.
 
Ya up here in Sudbury we got it all pretty much......French river as well pretty much depending where you live insudbury 15...30 min and your hunting hmmm if you want bears there down town lol or new Sudbury lmao !!!!!!!
 
Yes, North or NE or NW..... anywhere north or around Hwy 9 and somewhere not too far from the 400 hwy will give you easy access to some great fishing/hunting grounds....
 
An hr from Pearson is tough to find good hunting unless you have a tone of cash to buy your own property. Also a lot of the crown land within a couple hrs of TO is filled with people.

Don't listen to them OP. You wanna grab a place on Viscount Road. Closer to airport road the better. That should put you about 3 minutes away from the Pearson Terminal and a flight to ANYWHERE ELSE!

For 1.1 mill you can have my place and it right off the airport Rd about 1 hour and 15 min. Deer , Turkey, coons, coyotes, fox, and ducks in the pond in the front and Crown land all the way around me too lol.
