If anyone's interested, I've created a website that shows harvesting data for each WMU for each year and animal. The year by year trend for any WMU can also be seen when hovering over a WMU. The "Harvested per hunter" checkbox changes the map so that it shows the number of animals harvested that year divided by the number of active hunters that year.

If anyone has any ideas of new features to add, let me know!

Thanks so much. This is beautifully done.

>WMU 78
>more than 1 deer harvested

I'd like to know how people are legally able to hunt within Toronto. I wanna try it!
Harvest data is sometimes only listed for the parent WMU (i.e. 78) and not for all the sub-WMUs (i.e. 78D). So, on the map I have to group them since I have no way of knowing the individual numbers for each sub-WMU.

Obviously, nobodies getting deer in Toronto lol. But there were 465 deer harvested last year in all the WMUs that start with 78 combined.

gods i wish i could go deer hunting within TTC range

Well by this map i should have no issues getting my deer compared to the rest of Ontario

I am in 92 but have been eating tag soup for 2 seasons now. I hope this year is better. I have 7 individual deer coming in on cam each day.

I'm curious as to how this data is collected. Do you have to report all harvest to the Ministry or something in Ontario?

In BC they have voluntary surveys, but I don't think the return rate is all that good on them so you'd have to do a lot of extrapolation to get this kind of data for deer harvest in BC.

Cool project none the less, as a GIS guy I love a good map!
