Ontario Moose - Crazy Story - Pics

Hoyt, did you score that rack? I keep thinking min 198"...

Yeah we did... the green gross is 210 7/8... we will see what it comes in at after the 60 day drying period... what sucks about scoring for moose is that there is no credit given for point (tine) length... this bull has 29 points and they are all long, some very long... if you look in the book, there are many top bulls that have few if any points, some have only wavy bumps... really doesn't seem a fair measurement... oh well, we'll roll with it.

Yeah, I knew he was exceptional. I thought he'd go between 205"-210". I was low on a couple numbers, estimating.
Curious what the palm width & lengths were?
We're hunting Swan Hills country. It's been very tough. Very little sign, windy, poor calling conditions. Rain, sleet, snow etc...
Saw one real good bull, in cutblocks across the valley, over a mile away. He heard our call, as we could see him react to it, but he wouldn't come.
Only called one small (40") bull so far.

Again, hats off to hunting right, with your son. You guys did it right.

Between Parry Sound and Moosonee.

Laugh2 That really narrows 'er down. Laugh2

Congrats man! That's a very nice moose. There was a guy around here (cochrane area) who got one that size last year but there definatly isn't one that big around every corner in the bush.

Great moose & great story all around . Plus with your son !!! Thanks 4 sharing . It reminds me of my biggest moose in 1986
which I also ; hunted from a lake shoreline , took lots of pictures , pulled it out in my coleman canoe behind the boat.
It scored 190 B &C , with a 57" spread. So I can certainly appreciate your story & moose.

Thanks again for sharing. ,,,,,,,,,,,,, Frank
