Ontario Moose Hunting - WMU 54

Does anyone here hunt in WMU 54. (Havelock area)

Is there alot of moose there, and is there alot of Crown land for hunting?

Any information on this WMU would be really appreciated.

Moose in Havelock? it could be possible. I have never seen a Moose there but that doesnt mean they arent around....

I hunt in the Peterborough County Forest and We saw a cow moose ther in 1999. Thats it. I've never seen any sign (saw an Elk on the road,years ago just after release) I've seen a few Moose in the Havelock Legion but......JITC

You mean the township of Havelock not the town of Havelock right? Started hunting there near Sherbourne Lake about 18 years ago and it was excellent. We drove in right off highway 35. A lot of knobs stumbled on the area and pretty soon every ####### and his uncle was there. In the interest of staying alive buddy and I decided to let the idiots have at it without us and we went elsewhere. It was easy to get a tag and close to home. I guess that was the attraction. I haven't hunted there in quite a while so don't know if things have changed but I can't imagine they have.
