Ontario moose tag

A quick question. I have my residents moose tag for this fall(calf). I am heading up in October for the gun hunt. That said, is the same tag good for the bow hunt? I am heading north next week for grouse and some fishing and am wondering if I should bring the crossbow along.

I assume it is the same tag and is good for the bow hunt as well?

It depends on where you're going to. In many WMU-s the "Bows-Only" season opens about 3 weeks before the "Guns, Shotguns, Bowns and Muzzle -loaders" season. The Hunting Regulations will explain (page 46).

Yes, you can use the calf tag during any open season, in any WMU except 48, 55A, 55B and 57. In those areas you need to be drawn for a calf tag.

Bow season opens on the 20th of Sept where I will be going. So next weekend it is open.

I will bring the crossbow, who knows!
