Ontario no longer mailing Outdoor Card renewal notices

Why remind us? They just hope we don't renew, so when Mr Conversation Officer catches you hunting with an expired card they can fine you for the oversight.....

That's good in my opinion, you have the printed receipt of your renewal to back up.

If you ever sent it in mail, no response means " You don't know "

And good it's expire at 31 Dec on every year than expiring here and there.

MNR is facing massive cuts. This saves them $$$.

That's changed. I bought a temporary outdoors card at Canadian Tire this year, they print off a license on plastic paper and you get the permanent one in the mail a month later.

They have a special terminal connected to MNR for renewals and licensing.

Why exactly do we need that plastic card again?? I forget.... My hunting permit is a paper printed tag that I must carry, and my fishing license is also a paper tag I must carry... so what is the purpose of the plastic card?

Because you cant legally buy those paper tags without the card. The card proves you passed the hunting course. I wish they would go back to the old stickers on the backs of the cards.

Its changed now. When you buy your fishing licenses, small game licenses and hunting tags, its all seperate little pieces of paper that in no way affix to the card.

That's because you bought your new Outdoors card that way. If you buy them separately, after you get your Outdoors card, you now get a card for each.

I just got my new one in the mail. It took 4 weeks to get it. Also, it looks horrible! The old cards used to have a picture of a turkey or Fish, or another outdoor scene. But these new ones are a bland kinda brownish green thing, looks like a school student card. What a ripoff, especially with the higher cost to get them. I got 3 yrs small game and 3 yr conservation fishing, approx $126. Are we ever getting boned...

Ya, mine took 4 weeks too. At least it's all on one card if you buy everything at the same time.
