Ontario restricted transfer times

Hey,

Just wondering what the wait times are on restricted transfers are lately in ontario and how I can check the status. I searched but there doesn't seem to be a sticky on transfers.

Retail - 1 to 2 days (generally)
Private - 1 to 2 weeks (generally)

Sometimes it's faster, sometimes slower. No doubt someone will come along and tell you how fast/slow their transfers went.

Great thanks. Don't need an exact number just a reference. I ordered from a store and their confirmation system went down so I'm not getting updates. Thanks for the reply

Had one done last week for a new purchase from a retailer. Submitted Wed afternoon, was completed friday afternoon.

It's been 8 working days, or a week and a half and it has just gone through.

Hope its ok to revive this old post. I was going to ask this same question figure better to ask here. Has anything changed? Are these estimates still the norm?

Store on Friday afternoon, picked up today ( Tuesday ).

I purchased my first restricted firearms on March 29th; two pistols and an AR. Got a call from the store this afternoon (April 7th) that the approval came through. I had called the 1-800 # on Tuesday, April 5th to get an update and was told that the application was pending. The agent on the phone also suggested that I fax in a copy of my range membership and put my transfer reference # in the RE: line of the fax. They went on to clarify that although this was not required, it may help speed up the process and the information will be stored on my file. I sent the fax on the same day. Not sure if it made any difference but thought I'd share my experience.

I am told that the first time one buys restricted firearms the process takes longer than normal, in my case it took 7 working days.

I purchased a handgun online last week on a Monday morning and picked it up in store this week Monday afternoon. This was my first restricted purchase (after a few days receiving my RPAL) and I'm not part of a gun club.
