Anyone interested in getting into long range shooting or for folks who want to improve their short range game, the ORA is conducting a series of classes that are structured to do just that.
Details and dates are as follows:
Jan. 15/11 Equipment and position, what works and what does not.
Feb. 12/11 Wind reading, mirage, plotting, mental prep.
Mar. 12/11 Reloading, from start to finish.
Apr. 16/11 Range day preparation and cleaning a rifle.
The Borden course of fire will begin at 200 yards and go back to 500, Precision and F class targets will be the fare for the day.
The dates above are for the Burlington portions, Borden TBA at this point.
Details are:
Ontario Rifle Association membership or BRRC membership is required to attend the classes.
Start time is 0900, sharp. Finish will be at 4 PM.
Lunch is provided in the form of pizza, if that is not suitable some fast food joints are nearby.
Ear and eye protection is mandatory.
A live fire exercise will follow the classroom presentation at 50 yards indoors. Additional clothing may be required.
Bring a rifle with scope and some form of front rest, bipod, etc.with 50 rounds of ammo.
A notebook and an open mind are also beneficial.
Cost for each class is $ 50.00, payable at the door. Booking all five in advance will cost $ 175.00 for the early folks.
Pre- registration is required to attend the classes and class size is limited to the first 22 people that apply.
