ontario transfer time

After a week I call to follow up. Always confirmed, just administration in getting that confirmation out to me is slow.

Just my two cents. Last transfer was 4 weeks ago.
 
Well in July it was really fast for Ontario, one shop had one in 3 hours, in early August one of mine was bought late afternoon and was ready next day. Late August bought a couple and it was 3 to 4 days. There has been talk about higher volume of sales lately because of Toronto violence and gun ban talk.
 
In Qc province here. It has always been 10-15 days, before.
But I did a transfer Aug 10th and still nothing. Tried to call them last week but couldn't talk to anyone. Grrrr
 
Ontario CFO is quite fast with the approvals lately ..
in July and September, placed online orders on Sundays and was picking up from the stores on Fridays
 
thanks guys. I should have been more clear that I was asking about private transfer. Buying from a shop has been pretty fast for me as well, just not sure about private transfers between two owners which seem to be hit-and-miss lately
 
Honestly, 2 weeks ago the transfer took less than 24hours!

bought someone Thursday afternoon and the store called me the next day at 10am.... I was like are you serious? Is anyone buying pistols?


2 weeks is the closest comparable with the average almost 3weeks before...….. 24hrs Make some transfers people!

Waiting since August 14th for a transfer from a store. Still not done, CFO said.

Just bought a handgun two weeks ago. Transfer approved in less than a week.
 
Many comments don't mention if it was purchase from business or purchase from private party and that I think is the reason for such a different data. Former are usually 1-3 days, latter take longer, shortest one this summer was 2 weeks, most were 3-4 weeks this year consistently. At least for me.

Used CZ bought over the long weekend, transfer started last Tuesday, approved this morning. Four business days. Private sale, out of province.
Wasn’t expecting that in ON...
