Ontario Transfer Wait Times?

Just got a completed transfer for a new AR15 in Ontario. Order was placed on May 19 and was approved on June 8. 1 day less than 3 weeks. :(

Never had one take more than 5-6 days max... until now... 7 days in at this point for my new M & P rifle.

Seems nuts ppl are waiting up to 3 wks, for something that should take a day, or minutes really.

Is this all due to the $600 ar rifle price drops? Since there are 3 ar rifles on the market right now that are $600 down from $900+... buying frenzy?

I hear ya! Before, it would be within 24hrs for a retail purchase. Order my restricted today, I'd get a shipping notice the next day. My last restricted took almost 2wks to be approved.

I spoke with a lady in the Ontario CFO office this morning on a transfer initiated by an Ontario dealer. I've been waiting since May 23rd. No one assigned to this transfer yet. Possibly two more weeks.

2 weeks today, since transfer went through. Still waiting for registration certificate...

So, I checked the mail today, and my registration certificate was there.
Complete timeline:

May 9th Pistol purchase, and transfer initiated
May 26 Transfer complete
June 09 Registration in mailbox

So, 17 days for transfer, and 31 days for registration. Not exactly speedy!

No Point in complaining about it here.

I have made 2 complaints in the last month, everyone needs to do the same.

I will... how do you frame your complaint out of curiosity? Make it seem like a public safety issue? "I have requested a transfer and it shouldn't take 3-4 weeks. It should be secured, shipped to the buyer asap for them to take possession of in a safe manner. This isn't safe or efficient... etc..." We all know how the govt likes safety.

Simply let him know that 2-4 weeks for something that takes 2mins in our age of computers is unacceptable. The CFO is still a public servant, and you are very dissatisfied with the performance out of the CFO's office.
