Ontario Transfer Wait Times?

The times have gotten longer, Ontarians must be buying a lot of guns. In april I ordered HK sfp9 and it took 2 weeks. This month I ordered m&p9 and it took 3.5 weeks. Almost a month.

I finally had a few approvals today, seems to come in bunches.

I guess it could be worse, we could be Americans waiting on the NFA, for suppressors, SBR etc...I hear the wait is about 8 -9 months right now for tax stamp approval....!

I wish there was a way to track it online like we can with licenses. I just hate not knowing anything. checking everyday to see the same result would make me happy. at least I would know something.

So, there has obviously been some directive from the CFO to drag these out as long as possible. I don't believe it has anything to do with being understaffed or blaming an increase in purchasing.

In most places when you get backed up, you put in extra hours or add some more body's to clear the back log. As this has been going on for months and months there is no other way to look at it........it's deliberate.

As well it would help knowing when a transfer was actually initiated. A friend was waiting and after calling found out that the store had sat on or had lost the transfer after the purchase for 20 days before calling to get it started.

With the delay in waiting times they assumed it was the delays from the CFO. Of course the store also did not bother to call when the transfer was completed and they found out by getting the registration papers
almost two weeks after the transfer (which took 15 business days btw) was done. They added almost 5 weeks to their 3 week waiting period.

So having some system to check would be good. As usually the concerns are with security and access when something is put online or accessable without going through the bottleneck of having to divert staff
to answering enquiries.

that to my knowledge only works for firearms you are registering via the link in the same area. if I'm wrong then both of the firearms bought from 2 different stores 2 weeks ago haven't submitted anything yet lol.

You may very well be correct about that?

Eliminating my purchases from Ontario have proven to be very good, bought a pistol fro Alberta and it took 10 day to get to my home, very far from Ontario service... JP.

So your thread was closed so you figure you'd start that crap up in this one? Come on JP

Here we go again....Ontario has nothing to do with your province's CFO transfer process. I guess 7 pages didn't make it clear enough last time. Ever think that maybe just maybe it's pure luck when when you are fortunate to have have transfer within 10 days anywhere but Ontario? I have had transfer range from 1 day to 3 months (my first pistol) I don't blame ANY other provinces but Ontario, BUT I LIVE IN ONTARIO.

Well, if the transfer on a certain P220 Match Stainless Elite takes that long, that would give me time to take it out and put another couple boxes through it I guess.....But don't worry, I'll clean it really nice so you won't even be able to tell! ;-)
