Ontario Transfer Wait Times?

June 14 for me from Tenda. Nothing so far.

I'd contact Tenda and ask for an update. It wasn't Tenda but I've had the experience in the past of thinking "seems like it's been awhile maybe I'll ask about it." To have the response be "the approval came through 5 minutes ago. We were just about to tell you!"

Suuuure you were, lol

Bought a couple of rifles from FOC on June 29th and haven't seen anything yet. I have never bought from Ontario before, and every other restricted purchase I have made has been approved within 24-48 hours. In BC, I have had transfers approved in as little as a few hours, which makes me question those who say it is my provincial CFO who is responsible? BC CFO has never taken more than a day to approve my purchases, so I have to think it's the Ontario CFO who are dropping the ball. If it is taking as long to transfer as some of you are saying in this thread, I honestly don't think I will be purchasing from Ontario in the future, say what you will,,, it has NEVER taken BC CFO longer than 48hrs to approve a transfer for me. I already suspected as much, but Ontario truly does suck :)

If you are in BC it's the BC cfo, there is some misinformation as of late from someone who thinks otherwise, but trust us it your own province's cfo. Why dont you call FOC to find out?

I know you guys keep saying its your provincial CFO (BC), and of course that is true for approval, however wouldn't it first have to go thru the Ontario CFO?? Like I said, it has NEVER taken the BC CFO more than 48hrs to approve any transfer from any other province but Ontario. Saskatchewan, Alberta, etc all approved with no problem within 48hrs, so I can only assume the wait time is because of Onterrible. I have literally had approval before I got home from the local gun store on purchases made in BC. What is really pissing me off is that I bundled in a bunch of Glock mags with my order and I really don't want to wait a month or more for them to arrive with the rifles I ordered.
I have called FOC, but I will try again

Should I be coming up with cute nicknames for other provinces because when I buy guns from them the transfers take longer than when I buy in Ontario?

Lol, absolutely you should,,, however we both know that it will never take any province longer than Ontario to transfer a gun, so you will have a bunch of cool names you will never get to use :)

You guys from BC have very short ( or selective ) memories.

google BC CFO terrible. I believe it's the 3rd search down.

I tried to post the link......blocked as usual

"I've been waiting like a good patient Canadian for three weeks for a transfer to work it's mysterious way through the murky windings of the CFO office, and today I made my polite phone call to gently inquire about my property. The BC CFO has been backed up, so I wasn't surprised to get a member of the RCMP on the line, who says she's helping the CFO with their backlog; a very nice lady named Amy. She's my hero for the day, as after verifying that I am who I am, she approved the transfer in about....three seconds? "

Sound familiar ???

I was being serious. I've had transfers done in province in 72 hours. My longest by far was from Alberta. I don't blame them though because I know how the system works.

Oh man. I was mentioning to a buddy that I'm still waiting after 14 days and he told me to come here and have a look. Guess I'll stop checking my email 20 times a day. :-(

Call the Ombudsman guys... the more complaints they get the more pressure is placed on CFO

I just got a transfer done in four days, private sale from a guy on here. I was very surprised as was the seller after reading this thread I was expecting a very long wait

Other provinces are relatively short. It's ontario where it's taking time for the buyer's end.
I'm waiting on a transfer. I'm sure the buyer is aware of the wait times, but it still feels bad. I wish i could mail it off the next day after receiving payment
