Hi guys, my name is Steve, and I'm in Branford, Ontario. I am an avid trap shooter, and have gone goose hunting a fair amount. I have recently aquired my turkey licence as well. I am looking for some one to "take me under their wing" to get out on a turkey hunt for the first time. I have been having a hard time finding some land to hunt, because it seems to be mostly spoken for around here. I am a very responsible and trustworthy person, and I am more than willing to help you out in any way I can, to return the favor, just ask.

Is there anyone interested in taking out "the new guy", or allowing me to hunt their property for turkey this spring? :shotgun:

I'll travel north or south, east or west. Just let me know if you're at all interested in taking me a long, or have some turkey hunting land, that I could hunt.
Thanks so much. Steve.:D

Steve, There are lots of guys here that I'm sure can help you (me included), but I would offer this advice: Hang around the boards a little, have some disussions, ask some questions, give some advice. The best way to get "in" with the guys is to let them get to know you a little. No one will really want to take an absolute stranger into the bush with a gun. Lots of great folks here, just make yourself at home.

Hey, thanks for the warm welcome!

I will definately make my way around the forum here and meet you all, I'm sure you're all a great bunch to get to know.

I was actually refered to this forum from the other one I'm always on. (shotgunworld). This site looks great as well.

The other forum I was on was great too, but mostly American, so it's really not the best place to find new hunting buddies locally.

Great! Thanks again, Looks like a great site to have joined.:dancingbanana:

Steve.

Hey gixer! You aint got to but take a drive down any backroad around Brantford to know there are tons of turkeys. Head over toward Burford Norwich area and look around for properties that grow gensing. Turkeys love gensing and gensing farmers hate turkeys;)

Yep, I know there are a lot of birds around here. I see them everywhere. I have stopped at so many places and the farmers always say, "you're more than welcom to hunt here, but there's already 4 other hunters". Sometimes even more than 4.

I just don't want to crowd a place, or step on somebody's toes. I'll keep looking, but I know the season is less than a month away now, so it's getting harder to find spots by the day.

Thanks, for the help. Steve.

Don't let those properties "you're more than welcome on" slip by. Alot of other guys tag out early. If you can stand bugs the late season woods don't have near as much hunter pressure either. I bagged my first bird after helping another hunter bag his (in a large glad so the blood wouldn't stain his station wagon). He was on the way out I was on the way in after work on the second day of the season.
