Ontario turkey hunting in area 46?

Is anyone going to try or tried area 46 for turkey? Just curious as I have property in the northern part of 46 and I was wondering what the populations of the bird were fairing like.

No clue, sounds like quite the commute though, how far of a ride would that be?

About 2 1/2 hours from Toronto.

There's lots at the south end of the WMU (both sides of Hwy 11 south of Gravenhurst, but I'm not sure how far up they go. Perhaps a call to the MNR's district office might give you a better picture.

Is there a season this year in 46? I noticed that it was added to the 1009/10 regs. But doesn't the current hunt follows the 08/09 regs?, which I don't have in front of me but don't remember a hunt in 46.

But yes there are (or at least were before this winter) turkeys at least as far north as Carling township.

I was told a couple of years ago by locals they were seeing turkeys in Phelps Twp. Phelps is NE of North Bay.

I was told recently by a local that he saw turkey crossing hwy 69 south of Point Aubaril Station and I am about 35 minutes North, so kind of exciting!!
