As some of you know, Turkey Season is upcoming in Ontario.
Just today I looked out my back window and there it was. He was staring right at me, as though he knew the hunt regulations, and mocking me. When I opened the window, I figured it would scare him off, but instead he took a few woddles back, and just stood there again.

I swear, someone's been reading these guys the schedule.

Is this a sign of a good upcoming season?

I swear that happened to me last year too. Week before season opens , wife and I were watching TV and out sliding door window a tom just lazily strolls across our yard and heads out into field. Was literally 10ft from house.

And I didn't get one that season.

They've been doing that for the last 5 years at my place. They come around starting in mid february and dissapear 1 week before the season.

I know what you mean we see them all year all over the place but when the season comes they are all gone or all hens for the spring hunt.

This will be my first turkey season. Have a spot lined up, and as of right now I have a very good idea where they are roosting and feeding. Are you telling me they won't be there come the 25th!? :D

they'll go from a bold lump of bird to the most skittish creatures. It's kindof like seeing that wrench you never need, but once you need it, it's nowhere to be found.
