Loaded a hundred 45 Colt start loads with 240 JHP for a Marlin 1894. These loads are for replica handguns and velocities were around 800 fps. Well they were supposed to be. Just realized, and I don't know why or what I was thinking but I charged the cases with CCI Benchrest Large Rifle Primers instead of the Federal Large Pistol Primers.

Does anyone know if there is a site or where a person can get info on the different power levels for primers as one can find for smokeless powders?

If its not to bad a screw up I'll use them if not then I guess I will have a rainy Sunday afternoon chore.

Are they already loaded and seated? Or are the cases just primed?

If they're just primed, you should be able to reduce your powder load just a touch... BR primers aren't especially 'hot' in my experience. Maybe others have more experience with this?

The only issue you might have is if the rifle primer is a bit harder than the pistol primer.
My original 1892 Winchester will touch off most, but not all rifle primers. Some take two strikes to go bang.
Pressure is not an issue IMO this time.

The large rifle primers ought to be taller than the regular pistol variety. If they are flush, I'd be worried about them being too sensitive, and if they are raised, I'd be worried about the possibility of firing as they go into battery.
