Same spring.

The Norinco one is considered to be equivalent (if not better) to the USGI spring. ZERO reason to change it.

GG&FB told me to change out my spring first thing as the GI springs were more consistent.

i concer with canucklehead, i have heard numerous times the norc spring is A-ok and it does not need to be replaced...unless you have "I need usgi parts in my m14" syndrome.

Norinco springs are different length as well. Don't know about spring strength however.

Anyone want to start going to industrial supply places to use commercial springs in various strengths to test?

The Norc and GI are similar, but the Norc has a different rate.

I'm not a beleiver in most of the hype south of the 49th, in regards to reworking the Norcs......but I do agree with Ron Smith and Clint McKee about replacing these springs. That's the first thing I change after cleaning a new M14s (m305), then the stock.

That's my $ .02

....And I need one if anybody has one!

Thanx.

Are you referring to the guide or the spring?

As for the guide rod, I was going to get one from Marstar but didn't want the hassle that others speak of. I found it easy enough to make my own. The only piece of equipment you really need is a lathe (or a buddy with one). The rest is just sawing and filling. Watch out, that stainless is tough, so it might take a bit of time...

I can't make the spring though. I too would like to know if anyone has a source for the USGI springs. In Canada preferably. Thanks.
