Op rods etc.

So any new development in newer, better, stronger, smoother Op rods and other pieces for the Norc 14's?

I haven't really been paying attention.

I am not aware that the Chinese changed anything... the ChiCom M14s that were imported into the states have forged 1-piece op rods that are every bit as good as USGI TRW. I use the ChiCom op rods in both of my M21A5 SEI builds.

I have not read anything positive about the Red White and Blue op rods that are being imported into the states. Most of us use USGI, ChiCom and SEI op rods. The US military uses SEI op rods.

well.... H20 , you are lucky to have those "brands" at your disposal, up here in canada we have been using and installing RWB oprods for some time now and they are just fine, AND they are meeting and exceeding usgi spec in dimension and fit/function. if we could legally import usgi, SEi ect..... we could use them as well.

also isn't a major player in the states using exclusively RWB oprods in thier multi thousand dollar rifles ..... LRB perhaps? or am I incorrect

please point us to examples of RWB oprods receiving bad press for fit and function and hardness..... I've read none.... but have installed and operated many

LRB claims to use them and they do sell them, but my point or question was:

What is wrong with the Chinese op rod?

please point us to examples of ChiCom oprods receiving bad press for fit
and function and hardness..... I've read none.... I've operated many.

BTW, I am glad that you have RWB kit at your disposal and that it works for you.
I wish we were as lucky as you to have those ChiCom M14s at our disposal.

;) ;) ya , you are very lucky to be in the good ol usa when it comes to instant access to all those glorious piles of m14 crack hehehe.
As far as CHICOM oprods go...... they are indeed excellent and i agree with your claims 100% . The problem up here in canukistan is that every so often you get a norc or poly rifle with a very sloppy oprod/receiver fit, and though there are piles of these rifles up here, there are not many sources to get oprods from. You can risk the EE here and get a used one for reasonable $$ and hope it's gonna fit better than the original one, but it is a crap shoot.

in such rifles, the oprod has vertical rotational movement along it's entire path and in some cases causing the oprod to skip and toss the bolt from the roller pocket..... we both know..... this is NOT good hehehehe
most but not all of the usgi oprods i've had required fitting to achieve a beautifully smooth fit, RWB oprods aford the same excellent fit when installed correctly.

you know.... everytime H2Oman posts..... it just makes me wish i lived down with my friends at the ranch in South Dakota hehehehe ..... maybe one day ;)
