Open gun compensator?

I'm building an open gun and I have a 6 inch STI bull barrel that I plan to thread and bolt on a compensator. My question is where does a guy legally buy a compensator from. And yes I'm aware Freedom Ventures can get a Tru bore barrel but I'm not willing to wait that long, also I'm not using a STI slide and I'm unsure if it would work as my slide is a little shorter than a STI slide. Any ideas would be appreciated.
 
Just sold one on EE two months ago....... I had it for sale for 10 weeks before I got a bite. I sold it for a fraction of what it would have cost at Brownells.
