OPen gun thumbrest/ gas pedal

Just curious what folks are using, or if you are using one on your open gun,...make/ model,...etc. The Alex unit looks good, but so does the double alpha adjustable. I saw one that replaces the slide release lever as well. I have used an RHT on my tanfo open gun, but working on a different platform now.

Have an IPSC Alex on my 2011.
Happy with it, and will use it again on my next build.

I'm using the Alex thumb rest on my Open gun build as well. I have used them on my last two as well.

I find the gas pedal too small. I now have an Alex on my Tanfo

My Czechemate and TSO have thumb-rest. My SPS vista long 38 super, shadow 2, and Sam 1911 do not have thumb-rest. And I shoot them all. I have a little experience shooting with and without a thumb-rest.
Before I develop a stronger grip, I feel thumb-rest is a must have. It help keep the flip down and recoil back to target more consistently.
This year, I spend more time to develop a stronger grip, thumb-rest no longer play an important role.

I am using the Alex. Good product, but I was limited to the mounting holes towards the front, as mounting it too far back would not allow me to remove my slide stop. I cut off some material off the bottom of the pad so it clears the slide stop lever, and now allows my thumb to contact the rest without ' reaching' for it. (I have short thumbs/ medium hands)
