Open sights rifle... Been years i had so much fun... 6.5X55 SM.. pic.

Since i started shooting my 6.5X55 Swedish Mauser i did rediscover the pleasure to shoot an open sighted rifle, the rifle and the caliber are exceptionals... I did reload a batch of 140 gr Amax with 45.5 gr of IMR 4831, BR-2 primers, OAL 3,035 inch, i push them at 2710 with a very low SD... I did join my 3 best groups of the day all the other one, none were larger than 2.7 inch... Old rifle, olds eyes and a lot of fun... Cheers. I really like the 6.5 caliber, more of them will find their way in my home, i am looking to buy either a 260 or a 6.5-284... Cheers. JP.

They are nice rifles to shoot, that is for sure. Nice groups BTW!

What really amaze me is the low recoil of the 6.5... The Creedmoor doesnt push hard either... JP.

I know how you feel. I've got my grandfathers old 30/30 '94 with open sights and it's by far my favorite rifle to shoot. It's almost 60 years old and still shoots great!

1 of my 6.5x55 will group 3/4" at 100yds with 39.5 of IMR 4064 and at 2650 fps, 140 sierra gamekings
