Ok I guess you pull these metal rings. Well let me tell you I'm not a weak guy and it took about 150 lbs of pull to strip it open using a bar through the loop. These Europeans know how to pack their ammo. Never used 7.62x32 before so this is all new. Great wooden box too!!

Thought this might help future ammo buyers....or maybe I'm the only one here that's never shot this stuff before!!

No.............it is actually some of the best pictures we have seen.

It comes up on occasion!!

Now..........try openning one with just a cheap pair of channel locks!!

Not to overstate the obvious, but watch your fingers on open rim of the can.
The thing is sharp.

Great photos and always worth a review of the technique.

I actually bent my then-girlfriend's cheap dollar store hammer when opening the 1st one I got (using it as a pry bar). I kept it as a souvenir and still have that hammer somewhere, makes me chuckle every time I stumble upon it.

I was talking to a fellow gun nut once and he mentioned that a crate of czech 7.62 he had bought once had a couple boxes of tracer rounds in it...

Anyone else ever found tracers?

If a 110lb haji can get these things open the average Canadian shouldn't have any difficulties.

If you have trouble with getting sealed ammo tins open, lose the key for the key type, or lose the can opener the best way to open the cases is with a hammer and screwdriver. Place the screwdriver on a 45 degree angle and smash it through the edge of the tin.

Not yet but I keep hopeing.
I bought 2 crates thinking my chances will be better.
Thanks Can Am for the ammo.

X2, my 2nd, unopened crate sits quietly in the shed and I keep fighting the urge to rip it open and pray that I get just <one> box of tracers .... If anything for the cool factor, and I have a place these things can be safely shot at.
