Opening 7.62 x 39 box

popcans I can do with my teeth, those ammo crates? I don't think so. even my powers only extend so far......

If using a propane torch is dangerous, how did they seal the ammo containers in the first place? A local gun store opens their crates with a torch and they say the lid comes off so quickly that no heat is transferred to the ammo.

No.............it is actually some of the best pictures we have seen.

It comes up on occasion!!

Now..........try openning one with just a cheap pair of channel locks!!

Wouldn't you be able to use those crazy mod powers to repost the pictures to the sticky, or is that just crazy talk? :D

I wonder if they store any of their rations like that as well.

after readingg past threads and this one i thought it was going to be a pain in the @$$ but i had to laugh at myself how easy it is to open just pull the tabs no tools required ..none just pull the rings and it opened very easy .......i guess if the tabs ripped off it would be a bit diff but being a sheetmetal worker id find a way in

Imagine it: little bits are flying around while you search for a claw hammer, 2x4 end and a flathead screwdriver... I suspect youre meant to use your bayonet through the ring and turn to twist off- Thats how I opened mine- (tire iron- not bayonet)

I pulled the tabs off getting into mine. I just bashed the hell out of it with a hammer and screw driver. My first box lasted, what, 6 weeks. Need to stock up i think, 300/500 rounds per range visit eats ammo like a fat kid in a candy store.
