wow what a great idea :rolleyes: why didnt i think of torching a crate of ammo :confused:

You know, the original thread on opening Czech surplus was started 45 years ago. It was decided by general consensus that you can just grab a ring and pull / roll your way to happiness.
 
I personally like using a Cutting torch. nothing like a 2000 C flame to open a crate of ammo and if you lucky you can set off the whole crate at once.

Don't be a dumb @$$ Just pull the rings.
 
I remember my first crate. Cuts on my hands, severely deformed box. LOL we should have a pic thread for pics of newbs first crate of Czech ammo.
 
god what the hell are these things made out of... lead?! this stuff can't be good for you. i had the solder all over my kitchen floor by the end of it, and all kinds of metal dust on my hands.. i tried to use my hands at first. after wrangling with it on the floor for a quarter hour i realized that i have a freaking crowbar.

Small crowbar

I took a small crowbar that i got at Dollarama. Put the tabs in the teeth and twist like opening a can of kippered snacks, or like the old twist open sardines. works like a hot d@m!!!:)
 
Its pretty simple just pull the rings..


i remember the first crate i had, all of the rings broke off so i had to take a flat head screwdriver and a hammer to knock off the welds.. fun

The crates are supposed to be zinc-lined, no?
