Remember reading Spam was used for greasing vehicles and lubing guns in WW2.

I've also heard of spam being used for lube, and to quiet a noisy differential or two I think spam is one molecule away from being unsuitable for human consumption, but apparently that one molecule is what makes the difference because I used to eat it all the time when I was little and I'm not dead yet I remember it tasting kinda good, actually Very important though, DO NOT EAT THE SLIME LAYER ON TOP!!!! lol

Wrong, sulphur was used to make blood clot quickly to stop bleeding. It does have some antibiotic properties but only when it is burned and creates SOx
SO, SO2,.. this cobined with water vapour creates Suphurous acid and Sulphuric acids both of which create an environment that is too acidic for bacteria to grow in properly... at least the ones that are pathogenic..
