Opening day for ducks tomorrow and it is going to be one hell of a morning!!!

North West Winds 40-60 Km and 30mm of rain!!! We were at the blind tonight and there were hundreds of ducks, mostly Ringnecks and Teal.

I hope the Canoe can handle the wind
It should be fine, we have a 19.5ft Grumman.

We had a youth hunt two weeks ago, in the same area, it produced a few birds...

NB opens today for waterfowl and upland. I'm on day 15 @ the refinery.

It wasn't too bad a paddle in, it was like sailing on the way back. My buddy only a couple hundred yards away had a hell of a paddle, washed up on the far shore at one point.

Anyway, My wife got her first real kill, two ducks, one on the water and one on the wing. We had 3 come in and took them all down. we took home 5 birds all together, unfortunately with the heavy wind and a only a 10 month old Lab, we lost 3 birds.

I have a neat picture coming of a ring neck who has been "caught" twice... stay tuned.
