Opening day............grouse recipe as promised!!!

Me and my son took off this afternoon for opening day here in BC.
We cruised around and looked at the scenery and on the way back I got a big fat grouse with a shotgun the I recently got from mpjustin(thanks). I called the grouse a ditch chicken and my son says that it looks more like a floor chicken right now.We met up with a nice black bear coming back from our drive and watched him for a few minutes while he made tracks for the timber.We had a few laughs and then headed home,it was a geat opening day.
Terriyaki grouse with wild rice tomorrow..................ummmmmmmmmm:D

Grouse Recipe
sliced breast meat only from one fat grouse....
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 teaspoon ginger
1/4 cup olive oil
1/2 cup basmati rice

I am assuming you all can cook, so once it's all done just place the cooked ingredients over the rice.....done.
Add your beverages of choice...

That sounds really tasty...:) Just a question though, does everyone clean their grouse the same way ie. step on the wings and pull the feet till everything comes out? Or is this some specail trick that someone showed me.:D

That's so crazy it just might work!!:D I'll have to give it a try this year.

Do the wing thing as soon as you shoot em when they are warm and pull slowly and firm on the legs.

There really is no need to cut off the head. You might get the odd head coming through the breast cavity. But it is a non issue, just pull it off with the rest of the junk that gets stuck in there ;)
