Opening Day Moose *pic*

Hey TB, I wasn't trying to rib you about the 260, I was serious about knowing how it performs on big game.:) You said you were going to have a field report for the all the gunnutz.
I see a lot of talk on how good the 260 is and then you take the moose with an 06. No confidence in the 260 perhaps......?
PS, I have taken more moose with the 303 than you have your whole life and that's not including the ones taken with the 270, 30-06, 7mm mag,308, 300 mag etc. So put your money where your mouth is and get something bigger than a gopher with the 260 and give us an honest frikkin' field report.
Bubba out......

I do have more confidence in a 30-06 for moose and elk, although if I had my 260 in my hands when I saw this bull, I know the result would be the same.

You'll have to wait until next year at the earliest ;) s tay tuned Bubba

Bubba, I think you should re-barrel your milsurp rifle to 6.5-303, and come to the mainland off that baby eater island you live on, and shoot a swamp donkey with it, and we will compare notes! :p

That's a hell of a good idea, I just don't want to ruin my Longbranch making a 6.5-303. It's a very good wildcat from what I have read and I would like to take a moose with one.:D All kidding aside though, I would really like to see what the 260 will do on big game like swamp doggies. The 6.5-303 is probably the only caliber that I haven't got one with. I know the 260 will do it as I have taken moose with a 250-3000 Savage and countless deer and blackies with the little Savage too.:dancingbanana: So when you get the chance to get some moose steaks with it , please post your results.
PS, who the hell is this Bubba dude you're talking about???

he drove and owns his own house.

took the ha-ha outa that post right quick.....

It is so sad to see a grown man like Bubba 303 try to diminish some young fellas accomplishment's and try to belittle the young 25 yr old Bartell who works in the firearms/hunting business, owns his own house (mortgage free) and his own truck (older, but still in good shape and free of payments) and has killed about A dozen or so moose....:( :(

Ah well...:dancingbanana: ;)

Geez, this has turned into an awfully big thread for such a small moose..:p :D

a spiker on the ground is worth 10 tripalms in the bush. we'll be having steak before most have even shot their moose :dancingbanana:

first off you 2 SUCK , with that being said congrats on the bull, better than alot of folks are doing this year so far but hey it snowed here yesterday, earliest snowfall I can remember and the game started moving .

Big Things come in small packages......:)
Kinda like the 260 Rem:dancingbanana:

303,
No need to wait till next year for a Moosie vs 260 story.....
I also have a Moose Draw in my Backyard (nov 1-10) With some luck I'll post up how a 125 Partition does.

Anyone that ponders the effectiveness of a 260 need only look at another Cartridge that's been around for awhile......the 6.5x55.

Considering they are near Ballistic twins... I suspect the results will be the same:rolleyes:
Bang ! Flop ! = Dead Moosie:D
