Well, as promised here is some videos for all the fellas that wanted to see the Norinco Type 54 Tokarev in action. In the first 100 rounds I probably had 15 failures of various seriousness, and even jammed her up solid a few times. After 300 rounds it began to function quite well, and by the time i Had 400 through it, there were no longer any problems. In fact, i was starting to get much better groups toward the end of this afternoon's session. Unfortuneately my camera eats batteries when in video mode, so the last half of the afternoon was not captured. All shooting was done standing. Also, the trigger was definitely much better after about 250 rounds.

This is not serious stuff, and you can even see me flinch once or twice, So go ahead and laugh at manboy. After i shot 200 rounds of 357SIG, and 100 rounds of 40sw, i was a little sloppy when Operation Tokarev began. hope you all enjoy. Also, the last video where i decide to shoot while moving, with the intent of emptying 2 mags, and then zooming in to show the results, the camera dies and quits as i'm reloading. i will include it for now, and try to get some more footage this weekend.

i think my quest for the worlds cheapest handgun is over. now i have a lowly benchmark with which to compare all others.

Yeah, Try and find a different place to host them, I find that photobucket realy crapifies my videos. It somehow reduces the quality greatly. I have A yugo tokarev in 9mm, actualy I have 2 of them, payed $160 each from marstar. I have put several hundred rounds through each of them, both have never had any problems, jambs, or failures of any kind.

any ideas? that are free? i'd love to be able to show them with better quality.

:bowrofl: at some of the comments. You're the kinda gunnut I'd love to have with me at the range. (Too many crusty folks around here, psssst... don't tell them I said that!)

On topic, I shot a friend's Nork Tok and got about 2" groupings at 5-6 yards: maybe he got lucky with his piece??

Well youtube is great, and putfile works I guess. Both of these are free. Or is the original footage that bad also?
i dont think it's that bad. runs fine on my comp in its original form. i'll try the other sites tomorrow if i get some time.

manboy,

FANTASTIC! I really appreciate you going to all that trouble to video and show them here.

Your commentary is great. I damned near pissed myself everytime the gun jammed...:D

Jeff.

Dude! You are a good host and funny! I mostly was interested in your comments. I had a Hungarian Tok from the 50s and it has had no failures, ever, in 7.62. The only stoppages I had was when I used a 9mm barrel with 7.62 mags. I would have carried it.

BTW, anyone...for carry, would you half-#### or keep it cocked on empty chamber?

Thanks for the vids manboy! You should post another round after you have 1000 rounds through it.

thanks fellas. yeah i'll definitely keep the vids and info coming.
like i said, the reliability got better as the day wore on.
if i were to carry it? loaded chamber, half/####. with proper holster that covers trigger VERY well. but like hell i'd dish out for another milt-sparks versa max2 for that gun. you can see my other gun in the last video if you look really close. the tokarev just got stuffed in a leg pocket on some carhaart work pants.
