after reading this I will keep it in mind. BUT!!! I'm not doing this to a TacSol X-Ring frame / bolt as it's a $1200+ rifle. and the X-Ring bolt can't be replaced that easy, where a Ruger, Dlask or Kidd bolt can.

I'd love to sell the X-Ring frame & bolt but that's around $700 very steep price for a 10/22 frame & bolt.

Do these GM barrels cycle and shoot all types of ammo well?

I have a trio of GM barrels, 10" 16.5" and 18", all fluted in .920 diameter, and even the 10" consistently groups better than any stock 10/22 I have seen, at least out to 50yds from the bench.
The bull barrels all have tight chambers which are picky eaters: CCI, Federal Gold Medal or Eley only to keep them happily ejecting; no way do they cycle cheap ammo!

Next on the project list is a 16.5" stainless fluted sporter taper.

It's a straight blowback rifle, this makes rearward cycling smoother and more consistent, bolt starts opening at the same time/same pressure level from shot to shot.

I was thinking about buying a Green Mountain barrel but I'm trying to do the impossible...

I want my 10/22 to group under 1/4" @ 50yrds & under 1/2" @ 100yrds. So I went with a KiDD 20" Match grade barrel, there is a method to my madness.
