Opinion on 10mm

I have had an idea I would like a 10mm revolver(S&W 610). I have a 45ACP, .357Mag and .44Mag. I just read that the .357 is close to the 10mm and a .41Mag is a hotter load, so the .44 Mag must be a little hotter as well. I guess I'm thinking I don't need the 10mm with the .357 and .44 in the vault. Just asking for input from people that know the 10mm. Since the revolver is not made anymore it is getting expensive. Thanks

You're right, you don't need a 10mm revolver; but srsly, don't let that stop you, bro!

10mm is a great cal, especially loaded to the original specs.
Personally, I'd rather have it in an autoloader; but to each his own.
 
10mm is the most versatile handgun caliber in the world, IMHO.

You can load it for virtually anything, bullets from 125 to 240 grains.
You can download it to lower-end .40SW velocities for target practice, all the way up to warm .41MAG levels for dangerous game hunting and protection.
And you can have 16 of those rounds in an autoloader (in a free country).
There is no other caliber that can do all this.
 
For a revolver, I agree, I think the 357 and 44 magnums are better choices. Still; I'd buy a 610 if I saw one for a good price. Heck, I hear that Charter is making 40S&W revolvers, I wonder if they'd make good candidates for 10mm conversions

id like to get one of the new Colt Delta elite, in 10mm.
that there splashing all over there website ...
i think 10 mm is getting more appealing again ...thanks to the die hard 10 mm lovers out there that just love it, and never giving up on it , and colts jumping back on the 10 mm wagon again ,so me thinks its gunna start growing in popularity
 
I had a couple pistols in 10mm (Glock 20 and 29). The caliber stands out in an autoloader being more powerful than most autoloader rounds, but in a revolver it doesn't make much sense since it's about equal to .357mag. Hot .41mag will blow it out of the water tho. S&W 610 would be a good choice for someone already shooting 10mm in semiauto and looking to add a revolver to the mix, since it would make it more simple than getting another caliber.

10mm

I own/like/shoot/load for 10mm [Colt Delta & Delta Gold Cup] & also own/like/shoot/load for .41 Magnum [S&W Model 57 6" revolver].

I did get a .40 S&W barrel fitted, as a "drop-in", to my blued Colt Delta though. Way easier sourcing brass & almost a much fun to shoot as well.

10mm is bad ass. Freedom ventures can order or stocks dirt cheap Tanfoglio all steel 10mm's. The combat model is only $520. I was thinking of getting one just to have a 10mm
 
I say buy the 610 and use it frequently.

You guys that are saying that there's either no point in buying a 610 when he's got all those other revolvers or that he should just get a .41Magnum are missing out on one VERY important detail..... MOONCLIPS!

The 610 can use either the 10mm or .40S&W ammo in moonclips to be loaded and unloaded very fast and cleanly which makes the 610 an excellent match gun for revolver class shooting.
