243 for island deer - absolutely no problem
took out my Tikka T3 243 this season, with 85 gr Barnes TSX and 43.3 gr of H4350. 3 shots resulted in 3 island blacktails , 2 bucks, 1 doe.
two were bang flop and the 3rd made it 20 yds then fell over.
all 3 shots were complete passthru behind the front shoulder, with nice neat 1/2" holes thru the ribs going in and 1-1.5" exit holes .
best part was virtually no meat damage compared to my 308 Savage 99 which used to blow them apart using remington cor-lokt SP's.
i have no experience with the 240wm, but my 243 seems to work fine!
