Opinion on aimpoint optics

you CAN get night vision goggles, although I dont know if you can get more recent than Gen1. Maybe Gen2. I am almost positive that Gen 3 is controlled by the US Dept. of state.

In any case, the NV ability is not big deal IMHO, the only reason I got the Aimpoint T1, is that it has a type-3 hardcoat anodized finish, rather than the type-2 finish that the H1 has.

You can get gen 3's. If you have tons of cash for a basically usless item.

gen1 and gen 2 are pretty crappy imho , my camcorder on nightvision works better.

this must be on the gray market ....??? if i had oodles of cash laying around id be pm'ing you on where to get these. ;)

im really liking the design of the m4s, but i still cant see what exactly im going to get that much better for twice the price of an already expensive comp ML2.
any input?

Better battery life (about nine years). Standard, readily-available battery (AA) - batteries break, and this simplifies your inventory. Brightness adjustment is more rugged (the adjustment knob is not directly attached to the electronics). Overall improved ruggedness. Built-in QD mount (less cost/complexity/maybe weight). Built-in honeycomb killflash/sunscreen. More water resistant.

Worth it? That's up to you.

-HUGE increase in battery life
-Integrated mount, no twisting in mount if optic is bumped
-AA Battery is more common than 1/3N cell
-higher brightness - useful for troops in Afghan or Iraq during high noon, also useful when operating in the winter when light is reflecting off snow
-brightness knob is more durable - early M2s the knob would sometimes break off...did not affect function of the optic as you could still move change brightness but it was a weak point

The M2 will serve you well if that's all the wallet can handle, but if you are going to buy a new Aimpoint, why not buy the most advanced model?

Whatever you think Gen 3's cost double it. I've rather point you to a good gun, then a usless item like that.

All new production H1s now have the same finish as the T1s.

yep, if I was getting one now I would get the H1 instead. But I got the one I have now at a year ago's pricing, so I probably got mine for around what you'd pay for a new H1 these days...

Since new model PVS-14's go for 2500-3000 dollars in the USA, im betting getting them would be rather close to 5000+ dollars....

think about it, new Sig Classic Green, optic rail + Aimpoint Micro, bunch of mags and ammo......

Yeah I just ordered in a Gen 2+, PRI mount and T1 Micro with the Larue :D #### its just like Christmas...

FYI:

We sell both the Aimpoint series and the EOTech series.

FWIW: Unless you are going to the sandbox, both are excellent choices.

And yes... we have warranty agreements with both organizations. The only thing we cannot help you with is if the sight in question was a model NOT exportable to begin with.

We are also waiting for our next shipment of EOTechs (55X and 51X series soon) as we do have our licenses in place, (sooooooon) and

Yes, we have lots of Aimpoints in stock...

If you are going to use the Aimpoint product on an AR, get a M2 Comp with QRP mount.....basically what the Rangers still use! I run this setup on a 14.5" carbine and love it! Don`t really need to spend all that dough on the M4....

Yes, Dave`s is a great place to shop! Just bought an Elcan Spectre DR from him..............

I think I like this combo the most so far...
