Opinion on laser bore sighting

A bore sighter is not required, but, depending upon the pistol in question, it might save you a lot of time.

If your pistol readily allows boresighting, like the Ruger MKI/II/III, and unlike the Browning/Hi-Standard/revolver, etc., boresighting might work just as well.

Just use a bench rest as an aid in holding it and set them by eye. Shouldn't take more than 15 or 20 rounds.

There's more muzzle flip with pistols as well so bore sighting will just set up the initial windage and the rise will still need some shooting to pin the sights to the POI. It's just easier to use a rest for your hand and walk the sights in over a few shots.
