opinion on norinco 1911

Good, cheap, projectguns. Most shoot well out of the box.
Lot's of info here on CGN already posted...try a search. It will keep you reading for days......

I dont personally own one but ive put a few miles on a buddies their cheap decent guns but its still a norinco and i would only buy one for a steal of a deal

I have a Norinco 1911 in .45ACP, about 5 years old.
Fit and finish, accuracy and reliability are all good.
Trigger pull, not so good, too heavy.
I have put many rds. through it with no problems.

Just got the NP29, 1911 in 9mm.
Very good fit and finish, accurate and reliable, with a good trigger pull.

Can't beat a Norinco, for the price.
Now if they would only bring out the 1911 in 40S&W

I have two and very happy. There are lemon show up once a while but so as every firearm company like Ruger or Para. The price cannot be beat if you can buy a good used or buy a armco tuned. By the way Armco also offer the NP-29 tuned 9mm 1911.

Trigun

i have 2 in 45. out of the box they're army spec 4"or5" @ 25yds with a sh-t trig, tighten the frame/slide fit , fit the barrel, tune the trig, & your good to go for ipsc/odpl, go a little farther , your good for bulls eye[ 3" @ 50yds]. my stock barrel gives me 2" @ 25 & my clark barrel gives 3" @ 50yds.

I've owned an original Colt 1911 and a Norinco. I can honestly say the Norinco is superior. Check out the American sites, they salivate over the norinco's that were imported there before a ban on Chinese firearms was put inplace (purely for political reasons)

My Armco tuned .45 acp Norinco works as good as the Colt.

As a matter of fact, it has a little brother, also tuned by Armco which makes them even better.

Nothing wrong with Norinco.....JMHO.

Just picked up the .45 w/o the beavertail a month ago. One of the most accurate guns I've ever shot, out of the box. Nice finish too. Made new grips for it the same day I got it. Don't plan on changing anything else, but I will be ordering some recoil springs, an extractor and leaf spring just to be ready for any failures. Get one, I know you won't regret it.

I got my .45, chrome frame and blue slide from Marstar, and had it tuned by Armco. I'd say it's at least as good as any <$1000 1911 I've looked at. I'm not a huge 1911 fan, nor do I shoot it a lot, but I'm very pleased to have this particular gun...money well spent.

Like a lot of Chinese products, you should check it out carefully for lemonitis...mine had a problem with the grip safety [weak and sloppy] and the mag release didn't work very well. Gunnar fixed both those problems, smoothed out the trigger nicely and replaced the sear, all for $135.

After 5-600 rounds they will smooth out and shoot very reliably. Dead reliable with factory ammo, not so much with MY reloads. (have not perfected my skills) I would suggest getting another barrell bushing as a spare part.
Also check to see if the new barrell bushing is hitting the toggle lug?? Mine was a hair to long and it busted it in short order.

They are a bit of a gem in the rough, a bit of fitting and a decent trigger job---you got a decent shooter. Fit and finish is not particularly good but thats an easy fix.

As mentioned before: a great pistol to practice your pistol smithing skills on ---worst case if you really screw up it costs you @$400ish not like screwing up on your Kimber,STI or wilson

First, the pricing cant be beat.......heavier grade of metal than what is used for its firearms counterparts...rough around the edges...which can be fixed....which is good, you can use this as project....using the forums for the good bad and ugly of what works and what doesnt..providing experience of what u want and dont want for your next purchase....
