It's the same thing as the ones used with regular dry corn cob or walnut media. Mine is an RCBS that I have had for several years. I highly recommend one of these separators for either type of media: they are a real time saver compared to just a sieve.

For the SS media, fill the bottom with water so the pins don't stick to the brass due to surface tension.

I am glad I bought one when I purchased the SS tumbling kit as it works well.
Also get yourself a magnet for picking up the pins .

I've had great success with mine. I ordered the full kit from them. If you follow their videos on the best practices for dumping, separating you won't even lose a single pin.

I separate my media in the deep sink with the separator in the photo, the bucket is full of water to the top of the bucket and the water helps flush the pins out of the cases. There is a screen trap I place in the drain and because the separator is open pin do fall out into the sink.

I also have the STM type separator "BUT" it does not fit inside the deep sink and to operate it it sits on the floor with me bent over. (pain in the back)

It doesn't loose any pins "BUT" it slops water on the basement floor.

So with my first separator I'm chasing pins with a magnet in the sink, and with the MTM I'm wiping up water off the floor.
