Well after a few years I finally bought my 20 gauge that I needed instead of another rifle....I bought a semiauto Franchi AL48 in a 20 gauge, which is still in the mail.

anyone on here ever hunt with or experience these shotguns? Any imput Would be appreciated, thanks,wJ!

I used some of the older model Franchi semi-auto shotguns on duck hunts years ago, and they were very well made guns.

I bought one many moons ago when I was a kid under the authority of my dad.
Hated that thing from the get go.
Years later, my dad bought me an A-5 and I wouldn't trade back for the life of me.
The Franchi's are finicky when really cold out.

Ya gotta shoot them dry! The AL48 is perhaps Franchi's biggest success story -- been in their line since Christ was a cowboy. The 20 & 28ga's are a joy to shoot -- just wish that they would bring the AL48's into this country! :(

Hey Grouser! Forgive my lack of experience, but what does shoot them dry mean?

Aswell you might be interested to know that I got my Franchi locally in Alberta from prophet river firearms.clay brought in the 20 gauge I bought, aswell as a 28 gauge for another guy....I believe he can order them in.

Don't matter, there is nothing out there like the CLANNNNNG of the A-5's
chamber closing............:p
And the slide the shell under and clangggg into the chamber......;)

And and the slick magazine locking device to change the round in
the barrel.
