First timmer, looked lots but never antied up. Anyway need your opinion? I have inherited a few commertive winchesters,not in box no paper work, but never fired. Do I just use them and enjoy? or not fire. Can a guy find boxes and paper work. I 'm thinking a gun is no good enless used and enjoyed. Not looking to sell because they are a family heirlom so why worry about keeping value!!:)Thanks
 
Hi. Shoot 'em. Out of the original sealed box they're worth the same as any other Win 94. Commemoratives in general weren't a great investment. Other than the name stamps, there's nothing special about them.
 
As many have said, they weren't a good investment. The only caveat to that is the John Wayne Commemorative, that I know of, and it has to find the right buyer, generally south of the border.
 
I have rifles that I shoot and safe queens that I collect. I don't shoot rifles just to shoot them. If I need to hunt with any of them for what ever reason I wouldn't have a problem using them. I just have enough that will do the same job that I don't need to use some. Personally I wouldn't need to shoot every one of the commemoratives or hunt them all. If there was one that there were a higher number produced I would probably pick that one. My understanding is any caliber other than 30-30 is more desirable so I probably wouldn't use them. Something is only new once!

Enjoy 'em...

I'm in the shoot 'em & enjoy 'em club. I have a couple Win commemoratives.... all .30-30's and none in that blasted 'gold finish'. All are 'shooters' as far as I'm concerned. I paid 'shooter' price for 'em and I look after them. So, I doubt I'll ever lose on 'em............... Enjoy yours!
